Boat Trips
Sit back and let someone else do the steering. Guided trips run from Dapdune Wharf in Guildford, with commentary on the river's history and wildlife.
The National Trust runs regular boat trips from Dapdune Wharf between March and November. Trips last around 40 minutes and take you through Millmead Lock, with views of Guildford from the water and stories of the navigation's working past.
Boats carry up to 12 passengers. The whole boat can be hired for a private trip--popular for birthdays, family gatherings, or a different kind of afternoon out.
Combine a boat trip with a visit to Dapdune Wharf itself, where you can explore the historic barge Reliance, see the old smithy, and browse the second-hand bookshop.
