riverwey.com is an independent guide to the River Wey and Godalming Navigations--20 miles of historic waterway running through Surrey from Godalming to the Thames at Weybridge.

I started this site because I live near the river and walk the towpath regularly. It's a beautiful stretch of water that deserves to be better known, with good pubs, interesting history, and a peacefulness that feels rare this close to London.

The site aims to be useful--practical information presented clearly, without the filler that clutters many travel sites. Everything here is based on personal experience or careful research. I've walked the routes, drunk in the pubs, and watched the boats work through the locks.
